My floors are done, sort of and mostly.
My dining room is GORGEOUS. Even without a table and chairs yet. I love, love, love it. It makes me want to lay down in the middle of the floor and just stare at it.
I scored a birdbath from a neighbor the other day- whooooo hoooooo! - it was headed for the landfill.
I have loved every single minute of working in my yard over the past two months or so.
I taught my 12 year old how to mow with the "little mower". I made sure to teach her how to check the oil, add gas and mow straight. Then I explained that it was my responsibility to raise her to be a "strong woman" because you know you could be left at any moment, like me, without a man to mow your grass. "I know Mom." she said back to me. I know she wanted to say, "Move it sister, before I mow YOU!"
The boy now says MISCREANT! Thank you Ice Age. He also told the girls tonight, when they wouldn't be quiet so he could go to sleep, that they should "Stop the bullshit." Thank you Avatar.
Most importantly, I was reminded today, and I will explain why to you later, that America truly is beautiful.

That's awesome - your girl is a mower! I actually wish someone had taught me growing up. I just started mowing last year. Yipes, that's embarrassing.
Totally laughing over your kid with the language, especially because my boy is OBSESSED with wanting to see Avatar. All in due time. I'm not quite ready for him to sound like "Meet the Focker's"...;)
