No time to edit the photos so you get 'em like this.
This is the project that has been taking up all of my time, making my house a wreck and driving me insane.
This has been going on since December.
My kitchen, laundry room, powder room and half of my foyer have been done for a while now.
Then we decided to go ahead and tile the dining and living rooms.
To make a long story short, that was easier said than done. We did not have enough material to complete the project and had to order more.
The tile distributor we were dealing with was not exactly, um,
honest, and we ended up with a large shipment of tile that was 1/4 inch larger than the original and unusable for this project.
In these photos you can see where we stopped.
Ugh.
I finally contacted the manufacturer of the tile directly, in Italy, and tracked down
one single distributor in the US who could possibly have the matching caliber tile.
They had a whopping 717 square feet left.
We ordered.
They delivered.
We had it installed.
And here we are.
Almost done.
I had them ripped the ugly chair rail off in preparation for the finishing touches.
I have decided to kick the little kids out of the dining room, which was serving as their playroom.
Today I made The Fish help me move this piece in.
And the I filled it with my white serving pieces.
Its turning out just as I had hoped.
More pictures as soon as I am done.
SO excited! :)
